Betty’s focus at the University of Phoenix was Doctoral Studies in Health Administration. While at Howard University’s School of Social Work - she received a Master’s Degree, and at Texas College, she received a Bachelor’s in Sociology. She has worked in healthcare for nearly all her career…approximately 35 years. She has always had a particular interest in working with Seniors. Betty began working with Seniors as a Social Worker in the hospital, then Hospice and Home Health, and finally as a Nursing Home Administrator for 18 years. Betty's favorite parts of her job are teaching and developing staff and building rapport with the residents, families, and staff. Add to that a career in watching residents strive towards better health and knowing that her team played a role in making it happen. Quiet time is vital to her. She loves sports, especially basketball and track and field. She watches NBA games (partially the Memphis Grizzlies, her favorite team). In her words, Betty would like to add the following: “I believe in treating people the way I want to be treated, and I decided some time ago not to try and defend myself against what people say about me. I don't care what they say about me. They can say it again. I am forever grateful to my family, who helped mold me. I am proud to be a part of such a dynamic nucleus. God Bless you, Friend!
